24 years ago, on January 17th, 2000, the AMAs presented Mariah with the "Lifetime Achievement Award" for earning a #1 single in every year of the 90s. At the age of 30 she was receiving an award for the achievement of a lifetime - and she was just getting started. People say she’s a diva, but she took her moment and instead turned the focus onto two children who were attending the awards ceremony from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Mariah said “their achievements are a lot more special than mine.” We stan a HUMBLE queen.
