Always remember that the Manusmriti legalizes the abduction of women on the battlefield and also ratifies forceful marriage to them for the kingly varna! More incidents of violence against women in the battlefield here ( None of these women were ever directly involved in war, yet punished severely!

They ahd no other option but to sing Bhajan when Somnath was under attack by Ghazni and his forces because their king, Rai Bhimadeva Solanki I, ran away instead of defending Somnath. His forces were twice that of Ghazni, yet he ran away. He earned plenty of tax from Somnath, yet he ran away. Full video here (
