Just had an extremely unpleasant & unexpected experience at PVR INOX Pictures S P I C i n e m a s Satyam Royapettai that I need to share. We were so excited for a family outing and booked tickets online through BookMyShow. and while booking There was no warning that kids under 18 aren't allowed, so we happily booked tickets for our child too. Imagine our shock and disappointment when we arrived at the theater, only to be met with rude behavior from the staff,right from parking entr. They outright refused to refund our tickets or even apologize for the inconvenience.infact argued that they have shown the warning while booking!! Everyone app 25ppl confirmed that there was no such warning. What made it even worse was when their security staff threatened us. It was terrifying and deeply upsetting for my child, who went from excited to tearful. Our joyful family outing turned into a nightmare, and our day was completely ruined. The police were called to the scene and tried to pacify both parties, but the theater staff remained adamant and unyielding. It’s heartbreaking to see such a lack of empathy and care from a well-known brand like PVR INOX. This isn't just about the money; it's about respect, proper communication, and the basic decency to treat families with kindness. And we weren’t alone. Many other families and even late school-going kids ( 12th or 1st year college kind) were affected this morning. If they are so strict about this rule, they should have restricted it while purchasing the ticket itself. To the authorities and the public, how is this applicable in the OTT era where content is readily available? Though it's not advisable for kids, how can parents regulate them effectively? Moreover, the majority of English movies are A-rated; aren’t people watching these or are they not watchable? Advisories are fine, but why should theater management behave so horribly with customers? Even Tamil Nadu police are much friendlier these days. Families deserve better than this. This experience has left us hurt and disillusioned. Have any of you faced something similar?
