This is the aftermath of so many homes at an Israel ישראל Kibbutz from more than 250 anti-tank missiles fired at it in northern Israel. Over the past several years, as many as 200,000 Israelis were displaced from their homes in the recent war and up to 90,000 in the north alone, becoming internal refugees because of Hezbollah’s attacks. Much of the world’s attention has focused on the suffering in southern Lebanon. But it’s also important to remember those from the Israel ישראל who are suffering and have died, and how this war began: Hezbollah initiated these attacks, not Israel. Israel’s military response came in retaliation to ongoing aggression against its civilians and communities.

Five days after the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust which was marked by murder of 1,200 people, rape, beheadings, people burned alive, kidnappings, and unimaginable brutality. All the while victims are still being identified and families are still grieving and Israel is defending itself against a ruthless invading terrorist organization, Darializa for Congress is out publicly supporting Hamas with Mahmoud Khalil Columbia University. Whether you support Israel or not is beside the point. And regardless of politics, Adriano Espaillat has long been a friend to all communities including the Jewish community; supporting funding for the protection of religious institutions and standing with us in times of need. The people of New York’s 13th Congressional District should not support someone who glorifies Hamas.
