That was a... strange on-court postgame interview by Wemby...?

Victor Wembanyama’s full comments today on the shooting of another civilian by federal agents in Minneapolis: “PR has tried, but I'm not going to sit here and give some politcally correct [answer]. Every day I see the news and I'm horrified. I think it's crazy that some people might make it seem like or make it sound like it's acceptable, like the murder of civilians is acceptable. I read the news and sometimes I'm asking very deep questions about my own life. I'm concious also saying everything that's on my mind will have a cost that's too great for me right now, so I'd rather not get into too many details. It's terrible. I know I'm a foreigner, but I live in this counrtry and I am concerned.” (Questions via Tom Orsborn, Mike Finger, video via Hector Ledesma)

Deni Avdija received loud ovations inside Intuit Dome last night from Blazers fans and Israelis who came out to support: “I'm focused on the game a lot, but it, it... It gives me goosebumps every time I see how many fans are behidn the bench and cheering and loving and shouting my name. It's the best thing ever, you know. Especially in the holiday when we're away from home, being here and seeing all of the State of Israel, the Jewish people of L.A. being behind me, it means a lot to me and it makes me play better… I never get used to it. It's always amazing for me and I'm very grateful to have this fanbase.”

Kawhi Leonard apparently had his shake fall and spill in front of his locker causing a visible mess. When asked, he told us: “I was mad at halftime so I threw my shake everywhere. That’s what happened.” I apparently did not catch the joke and him saying, “that’s a lie,” so asked about it again, to which he said: “I’m done, I’m done for the night. Haha I didn’t throw the shake, I just said that.”

Billy Mac dropped some interesting stats on the broadcast: "The Lakers have shot 233 more free throws coming into this game than their opponents this year. Far and away ahead of the 2nd place team, the New York Knicks... Oddly, the Lakers are dead last in drives to the basket."

Kawhi Leonard's full exchange with Ramona Shelburne regarding the Clippers/Aspiration investigation. "I understand the full contract and the services I had to do. I don't deal with conspiracies or the clickbait analyst or journalism that's going on." Kawhi adds, "I don't think it's accurate," that no services were performed and that he didn't receive the money that he was owed in the contract.

Tyronn Lue had a great quote about Bam Adebayo’s 83-point performance and some of the criticism around it: “He shouldn't listen to it. He scored 83 points. It's Wilt, Bam, Kobe. It doesn't matter what people are talking about or saying. It's stupid. He got the record, no matter how he did it, or second best behind the 100. However he did it, whatever happened, he scored 83 points. That's something that's hard to do, no matter if you're playing against a high school team, a junior high team, 83 points is a lot of points. So I'm very happy for Bam, very happy for Spo, it was a great night for Miami.”

Anthony Edwards was very critical of himself after Game 1 of Timberwolves-Spurs: “Ah man, I made so many mistakes at the end of the game. I'm disappointed in myself… For me, 75% of the game for me is my mind. My mind's got to be where it needs to be and in the last 2 minutes of the game, it wasn't. I gave up 2 offensive rebounds, turned the ball over. Yeah. I'll be better." “We've just got to stay locked in on the game-plan, especially myself man. I can't give up 2 offensive rebounds to Champagnie. I may not be as athletic as I usually am, but I've got to be able to box out, make the small plays to win the big time games.”

Genuinely curious about this one. Zach Zarba says, “the left knee of Avdija comes off the ground, making illegal contact to the hip of Harper.” But the foot doesn’t come up until after the hook/clear out by Harper. It almost happens *because* of the hook. How is not an easy offensive foul call?

Paul George on if the boos from Clippers fans bothered him: “I mean it’s stupid. I was a free agent. It wasn’t something that I demanded a trade or went against the team. They presented a team friendly offer and I did what was best for me. There were cheers, those are the ones I played for. There were boos, I didn’t get it.”

Not a fan of this call because what is Karl-Anthony Towns supposed to do on this 30-foot 3-pointer?

Bradley Beal on if the Clippers are place he'd like to be long-term: “100%. My wife is from here, so that made the transition a little smoother and easier for us, but I love it man. I love being here. I'm usually here every offseason working out anyways, so it wasn't too big of an adjustment for me living-wise. I'm very acclimated with L.A. It was just more where basketball was gonna be best for me. I hope I can finish here. That's the goal, that's the end goal. It's something that me and L. Frank talked about. Obviously you've got to continue to produce, continue to help lead this team to wins and the future will take care of itself.”

Asked Derrick Jones Jr. if he has a nickname for himself and John Collins: “Whatever everyone else wants us to be called, we're cool with it. I just know me and my bro, we got the most bounce in the league together. Facts.” “Dunk Contest this year? It's at Intuit Dome.” “Shit, I ain't saying yes, but I'm not saying no.”

Tyronn Lue on reducing James Harden's workload this upcoming Clippers season: “We don't want that. Yeah, we don't want that. I think we had to, but he just had to do too much for us to be successful to try to win games, to try to stay afloat while Kawhi was out. So we don't want James to have to do that all year. “There's going to be games where he has to do that, but I think the last 25 games of the season when Kawhi came back, I think we were No. 2 in offense and No. 1 in defense. We'll be able to score the basketball when everyone is healthy and things are clicking on all cylinders. So we don't want James to have to go out every single night and have to do every single thing he did last year for us.”
