Timber worth over 2 billion shillings has been slashed to an absurdly low 400 million shillings, following a controversial back n forth valuation by KFS sought by the Kenya Airports Authority. Today, Njoro MP Charity Kathambi who is a key member of the National Assembly’s Environment, Forestry & Mining Committee asked the hard questions in front of CS Debora Mulongo, KAA Acting CEO Dr. Mohamed Gedi and PS Gitonga Mugambi on this undervaluation, but the Environment Committee Chair MP Vincent Musyoka Kawaya abruptly shut her down with a secretive private meeting. Minutes later, they emerged from a meeting speaking the same language. Curiously, CS Debra Mulongo seems not to have any information on this drama and only PS Gitonga Mugambi seems to know who wants to eat these trees with a spoon. Questions that are actually Answers have arose: 1. Why was the timber’s value slashed citing “tree degradation” without solid proof? 2.
