Magyar arrived to preparatory talks for the inaugural session of parliament. He met with his former uni best friend, Fidesz cabinet minister Gergely Gulyás (glasses, red tie) . They shook hands but Gulyas immediately moved on as Magyar looks behind him in a bit of a surprise. Drama!

Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker one-upped Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar by taking out sunglasses during their walk through Vienna. Not to be outmaneuvered, Magyar immediately instructed his crew to present him one of his signature pair of sunglasses too. I fear the day of the first Macron encounter.

New culture in the Hungarian parliament: Speaker and Tisza MP Ágnes Forsthoffer switched Magyar's mic off yesterday. Mi Hazánk MP Előd Novák asked PM Magyar about problematic Fidesz regulations being made into legislation under Tisza. Magyar shortly answered then started to angrily address and earlier intervention by Fidesz MP Barbara Hegedűs on whether his campaign was using a foster care child for political messages. The Speaker intervened, pointing out that his reply was not directly related to Novák's question. Magyar later said the Speaker's act was unfair as "members of government can use their time to address any issue" they see fit. Speaker Forsthoffer maintains that she was following House rules, and would not make an exemption for the prime minsiter. This would have been unimaginable with Orbán and László Kövér in previous parliaments.

This is how the planned, 500 m tall Emirati-Kushner skyscraper would look like in the Budapest landscape. (Opponents chose the "skyline will be ruined" argument which I think is one of the weakest, since we dont know if the money grabbing scheme will actually be realized.)
