"First time? Aye, let me show you how it works, okay?" Tusk and Magyar at a military parade in Warsaw.

Our former prime minister is very sober in Serbia.

Péter Magyar gave the press a tour of propaganda minister Antal Rogán's newly renovated, and now abandoned headquarters in Buda Castle. Just look at this luxury mansion, complete with a cigar room for prominent guests. All this in one of the poorest countries of the EU.

Extraordinary statement by Serbian VOA head Lt. Colonel Đuro Jovanić accusing president Aleksandar Vučić and state leaders of "being sceptical" about their earlier reports on plans for a pipeline sabotage, and denying in strong words allegations of involvement to frame Ukraine.

Péter Magyar on Viktor Orbán: "he opposed mass migration, while Western politicians were lying to their people about incoming brain surgeons, and the common people in the West will not forget that."

This is why Hungarians voted for Péter Magyar. Recently a big, Hungarian-owned meatpacking company threatened that if Tisza's restriction on migrant workforce is introduced they might not build their new plant in Northeastern Hungary. This was the prime minister's answer:

Magyar arrived to preparatory talks for the inaugural session of parliament. He met with his former uni best friend, Fidesz cabinet minister Gergely Gulyás (glasses, red tie) . They shook hands but Gulyas immediately moved on as Magyar looks behind him in a bit of a surprise. Drama!

Well, this was a bit awkward for the German Chancellor. Friedrich Merz did not manage to get Magyar to silently nod to a suggestion that talks on military support for Ukraine can now open with the new Hungarian government. Watch Magyar's quick response here:

Prime minister Magyar: due to the heatwave in Hungary, there should be no shopping centre, restaurant - no matter how flashy - that bars homeless people from going in to cool off or wash.

Ladies and gents: our new PM 😅 No, he actually chatted away with excited Hungarians on the plane, how many European leaders would get this from voters these days?

Tisza leader Péter Magyar arrived to presidential palace in Buda Castle to commence talks with head of state Tamás Sulyok about transition. With him is MP elect from Budapest 2, György Velkey, who comes accross as sort of personal assistant. Magyar confirmed that he expect Sulyok to resign soon.

Magyar's new cabinet minister, Bálint Ruff had this to say on election night, before leaving media for politics. He is not going to make any friends from Hungary's outgoing Fidesz regime, in fact he is bound to unleash hell on former leaders, propagandists and nachalniks.

Péter Magyar after he was being spat on at Nyugati station by an elderly citizen: let us not despair but give consolation to these compatriots, let's reassure them. We aspire to represent them too. It's not their fault, but the fault of Fidesz propaganda.

We need the numbers, but I am sure Tisza just jumped from. 72% approval to 76% as a result of this X-tier, idiotic shouting match

Biggest Nakba day pro-Palestine protest I have ever seen in Budapest, now that it's fully legal.

Now in more accessible form, because I find it frighteningly relevant: George F. Kennan: Russia the Atom and the West, Part III: The military problem. December 1. 1957, from Kennan's Reith Lectures, recorded by the BBC.

This is how the planned, 500 m tall Emirati-Kushner skyscraper would look like in the Budapest landscape. (Opponents chose the "skyline will be ruined" argument which I think is one of the weakest, since we dont know if the money grabbing scheme will actually be realized.)

Budapest 6th district mayor, Tamás Soproni posts Hungarian poetry day video of immigrant schoolchildren reciting Hungarian poems (some in truly flawless Hungarian).
