Make it sound like it is long range and hope people forget that you used to have Vulcan, Buccaneer and also wanted F-111 🔸 Move your enemy's nuclear deterrent from intercontinental ranges down to that regional tactical aircraft 🔸 Limit those tactical aircraft to a small number of known fixed-position airfields 🔸 Plenty of "useful people" who'll also lobby on cost, environmental or similar fallacious grounds to help We'll be destroyed by what will appear on the surface to be a series of entirely logical and sensible short term decisions. When the invoices are all added up, a fifth SSBN will have looked like good value after all. Strategy and longevity are long term thinking.

⚙️ Tracked Boxer News Details popped up at IAV 2026 that Germany's recent budget approvals include heavy investment in maturing, and tooling for, the Tracked Boxer chassis. Nutshell is it is seen by Germany as low risk and expands investment in Mission Modules. Skyranger 35mm SPAAG, Joint Fire Support Team module, RCH155 and RCT30 Recce in particular. 🔸 Engine, drivetrain and running gear from PzH 2000 🔸 6 bolt system like the UK's 8x8 chassis 🔸 Accepts all 4-bolt as well as 6-bolt Mission Modules 🔸 Can be manufactured with existing tooling 🔸 Existing supply chain companies used Germany expected to be the launch customer at this point. Might not stay that way. For those unaware, Tracked Boxer is the chassis in this video. The howitzer turret is a Mission Module lifted off the 8x8 Boxer chassis and plugged directly into the Tracked Boxer chassis without modification. The RCH155 (per video) and RCT30 Schakal turrets (per info) are both in a programme of live-firing on the Tracked Boxer chassis. There's much, much more on 8x8 Boxer, Tracked Boxer and Mission Modules for Germany, Netherlands and the UK from Rheinmetall, KNDS and other manufacturers that can't be put out there just yet. Much more happening behind the scenes than announced is the upshot.
