In the BBC Panorama programme, Judith Moritz dramatically proclaims the “baby’s blood sugar plummets” when Letby gets on shift. Just before they move on you can see the blood sugar “plummets” once again in the next shift, from 4.8 to 1.7. Letby cunningly picked the baby who would *later* be diagnosed with congenital hyperinsulinism. An extraordinary coincidence since she couldn’t have known at the time.

Novel legal insight from Snowdon here: CPS didn’t charge Letby because we can’t trust a jury anymore as Mark McDonald would be able to pick the jurors he wants during jury selection. English courts don’t do that. He’s describing the American system of striking jurors without cause. In the uk the defence can only object to a juror for narrow legal reasons which must be accepted by the judge.
