In response, he shared a detailed statement addressing the ongoing debate around “fake DJing”, a conversation that continues to divide the electronic music community. He explains that modern DJs are no longer just mixing tracks, but acting as full scale performers, producers, storytellers, and artists presenting their own music on stage. According to him, every show involves weeks of preparation, including custom intros, exclusive edits, and original productions, all of which he says he performs live. He also denies ever playing a pre recorded set throughout his career, while acknowledging that in certain large scale productions, where visuals, lighting, and pyrotechnics must be perfectly synchronized, some artists may rely on pre recorded elements. On the topic of “fake knob twisting”, he argues that small adjustments behind the decks are often part of focus and preparation rather than deception. The debate around live performance vs pre recorded sets is not new, but moments like this keep pushing the conversation back into the spotlight.
