A man put a store-bought ice cream sandwich on a lit barbecue grill. The grate was hot enough to sear steak. The ice cream didn’t melt. It charred on the outside. It blackened at the edges. But the centre held its shape sitting on a surface hot enough to cook raw meat. He pressed it with a spatula. Still intact. Real ice cream melts in your hand on a warm day. This survived direct contact with a grill that exceeded 400°F.

Taco Bell’s refried beans never get cooked. Every store gets them as dehydrated pellets in a sealed bag. Workers say they look like rabbit food. The whole recipe is boiling water, stir for 30 seconds, then wait 45 minutes. That’s it. If they dry out on the line, staff just add more water and stir again. One former employee put it this way: “You just keep adding water until you can’t see white anymore.” They’re reconstituted powder sitting in a steam table. Nobody in the restaurant has ever actually cooked a bean.
