Perfect example of “call the ambulance, but not for me.” 😂 The Von Flue choke is one of the most unpredictable submissions in MMA. You think you’ve got your opponent trapped in a choke, only to realize you’ve walked straight into one yourself. One wrong move and the tables turn instantly.

Eddie Hearn believes Conor Benn has very little chance against Ryan Garcia at 147lbs. “If he gets hit flush on the chin at 147 against Ryan Garcia, the fight is over. So he’s got to rely on his ability but he likes to engage, he likes to jump in. Ryan is so reactive, he’s a great counter puncher” With all that being said, the question is: would he have said the same thing if Conor Benn was still with Matchroom Boxing?

Most people don’t know this, but Khabib Nurmagomedov has an older brother named Mogomed Nurmagomedov. Growing up, he was considered the most naturally gifted athlete and academically talented member of the family. However, a neck injury at the age of 18 ended his athletic career. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Plekhanov University of Economics and currently manages most of the family’s businesses. He prefers to live a life away from the spotlight, which explains why he rarely appears in public. In the video, you can hear him saying, “No camera.” 🎥Anatomy of a Fighter

Layla Machado Garry, wife of Ian Garry, has come to her husband’s defense, addressing some of the misconceptions surrounding the UFC prospect. “We are in the age of headline only, attention deficit consumers looking really to validate pre consumed ideas online. Bad journalism, bad people and lazy consumerism are a perfect recipe for misconceptions to explode and unwarranted amount of hate to land on UFC’s brightest prospect.”

Eddie Hearn believes Filip Hrgovic beating Moses Itauma doesn’t automatically make him a world-class heavyweight. “Massive respect to Filip Hrgovic. But let’s also get one thing straight, people are going on like Filip Hrgovic is this zombie who is unbreakable; Daniel Dubois bashed him up, David Adeleye had Hrgovic out in the fight. Moses didn’t really hurt him. So it’s not like Hrgovic is this elite guy, like top 3 or top 4 but he is a very good top 10 heavyweight” 🎥 via Sun Sport

The Dubois-Hrgovic fight is the perfect blueprint for understanding the Itauma-Hrgovic matchup. Hrgovic has a seriously durable chin. Dubois hit him with plenty of clean, heavy shots, yet couldn’t put him down. The fight was stopped by cuts in Round 8, not because Hrgovic was knocked out. That’s why Itauma’s speed, accuracy and combinations matter so much. He may not need to find one massive shot to stop Hrgovic; he needs to consistently beat him to the punch and force him into a sustained firefight. If Itauma’s power can crack that chin, we could be looking at a statement win. But if Hrgovic absorbs the early shots like he did against Dubois, Itauma is going to find out what a 12-round heavyweight fight really feels like.

March 3, 2018. For 7 rounds, Luis Ortiz looked like the man who would finally dethrone Deontay Wilder. The division’s feared bogeyman boxed brilliantly, hurt Wilder, and seemed in control. Then Wilder uncorked his ultimate equalizer, a devastating right hand that erased everything Ortiz had built. One punch. Fight over.
