I’m so happy I endured season 9 to see this. It really gets Shakespearean all over again as you realize they’re all hurtling to their doom. It’s fascinating that late in the series they transition from cocaine dj hipster people to hallucinogen burning man people. It gets very psychedelic and emotional and raw. I don’t think these people are really equipped for the way hallucinogens rewire your mind. They’re clearly super one shotted by them and Sandoval learned all the wrong lessons. It really becomes a kind of hallucinogenic horror fairy tale, something like midsommar, and I think on some level they know it’s about to be over and it’s so weird to see that pour out of them. Kinda insane the bravo producers just kept the cameras rolling for these drug trips lol #vpr

It’s an echo of an echo of an echo that stripped of any spontaneity like it’s made in a lab by PR executives but it has no magic, no chaos, no real energy. It’s dead at its core when all of this for all its nihilism and to be frank deeply cheesy aesthetics in hindsight had life.

I’m glad I saw it to the end and I will watch the reunion but this ending proves to me once and for all they really made art with Vanderpump Rules. The final crumbling of the fourth wall when they all directly address the producers and the audience is incredible. They highlight what’s at stake, they discuss the different ways they behave on and off camera, it’s fascinating. Finding out they were all in on the game the whole time is mind blowing. They knew what they were doing, they understood this as a collective creative process, and they made something that speaks to the intricacies of American culture so well. What a run Vanderpump kids. #vpr
