The second repeating element of each Dead show at Sphere was the liftoff, in which it was revealed that Sphere itself is a spaceship lifting off from modern-day Haight Ashbury into time and space. It was created by Industrial Light & Magic and always had everyone giddy.

3/27/25 had a scorching Sugaree to end the first seat. John Mayer loves Sugaree, and always brings out the guitar heroics. Never truly appreciated the rockstar he is before these shows. I’ve a number of good clips of this Sugaree, mine and others, but this one is great.
