The second repeating element of each Dead show at Sphere was the liftoff, in which it was revealed that Sphere itself is a spaceship lifting off from modern-day Haight Ashbury into time and space. It was created by Industrial Light & Magic and always had everyone giddy.

3/27/25 had a scorching Sugaree to end the first seat. John Mayer loves Sugaree, and always brings out the guitar heroics. Never truly appreciated the rockstar he is before these shows. I’ve a number of good clips of this Sugaree, mine and others, but this one is great.

Who else is gonna bring you A broken arrow… The stunning moment when Dead & Company played Broken Arrow for the first time ever during the landing sequence of 3/27/25 in tribute to Phil Lesh. This was the moment I cherish the most from my six shows. It was so deeply moving.

Estimated Prophet, 3/28/25. Section 108 #DeadForever This would be my final Bob Weir show. Never would have believed it.

A thrilling St. Stephen/The Eleven that even included the William Tell bridge from my third and final night in the Caesars Suite, 03/27/25. The band was cooking that night, it was a glorious show, my second favorite after 08/08/24.

This was Dead & Co’s innovation. You might see 12 shows and see Egypt portal 7 times. And you might get Music Never Stopped 4 times. But you would have to see a TON of shows to see Music Never Stopped with Egypt portal repeated. Song + visual equals a LOT of combinations.

Continuing my look back at 8/8/24, my favorite Sphere show. After knocking everyone out with that killer first set, the boys returned with another surprise: the rare Phil Lesh song sung by Bobby. Passenger was delightful, and listen to how strong Weir’s voice was!

Roll away the dew… Franklin’s Tower liftoff from 4/24/25. There was a collective giddiness when each night’s newbies would realize we were rising above the Haight. Never seen so many happy older heads 😂 So sad it’s over but so glad it happened for 48 fantastic shows.

During the 2025 residency, Dark Star was interrupted by a “computer glitch” and Sphere was taken over in a nod to War Games. I am laughing like an absolute maniac. 3/28/25, Section 108

Several people decided I would give a flying f*ck that they don't care for Dead & Company and "they sound awful" and can't play. Oh you are so right, they are terrible...🙄🙄. Just can't play AT ALL, can they? Save me from the Deadheads who think the music is dead too. 8/8/24

Dancing in the Streets from section 108, 03/28/25. I dig the 100s. Band is close, sound is bumping, crowd is dancing, screen is HUGE. I sure miss Bob Weir.
