Houston head coach Dana Holgorsen, during his Nov. 14 radio show in advance of their game against Oklahoma State, seemingly took issue with UCF's claim to space. "(Oklahoma State) goes in and Central Florida has got those unis," Holgorsen said. "I don't know what the heck they are, but they are some blue unis... Some Space City thing. I thought we were Space City... (The launch pad) is like 45 minutes away (from Orlando). It's not close. They don't say, 'Orlando, we got a problem.'" Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and the county commissioners unanimously approve Tourist Development Tax (TDT) funding to construct a new football stadium tower at UCF. Houston coach Kelvin Sampson lavished praise on UCF's marketing department, led by Jimmy Skiles 🌴, for their cultivation of student support. "I can't say enough good things about the athletic department and getting those kids engaged. I mean, how many kids after a Friday night are gonna come stand in line at 10.30? I wouldn't. I would have liked to have, but I probably wouldn't have. "But they did. They were here. Our bus, we rolled in here about 10.05, 10.10 this morning and they were lined up in two different areas. "So kudos to the marketing department here and kudos to their students for creating and providing a tremendous environment for their kids. That's why it's a tough place to play. "(This year) we've been to Oklahoma State, we've been to Kansas State, we've been to UCF. This was the toughest place we've been because of the fans here."

.UCF Baseball's inaugural Big 12 season is going to be a lot of fun. Every weekend will be high-level baseball. Knights will play 30 conference games over 10 weekends. I'll have more from Rich Wallace next week. "Anybody that comes out of the Big 12, ACC or SEC that gets in the NCAA Tournament has a chance to win it all because they've seen everything. It's a matter of can you do it or not."
