A note from Team Uditi Singh. Friendship is not agreeing with everything. Yes sir, yes ma’am, aap bilkul sahi ho. That is not a friend, that is an employee. A friend tells you when you are going wrong, once, to your face, and still stands beside you afterwards. That is all Uditi did. She said that when someone tells you they are uncomfortable, that is where it ends. She said it to Qazi directly, then in front of everyone, because she had nothing to hide. The only answer she ever got back was “meri niyat woh nahi thi.” She never once said his intention was wrong. That was never her argument. Days later Salman sir said the same thing. She said it to him first, privately, as a friend. Had he heard it then, it would never have become a Weekend Ka Vaar topic at all. For that she has been called dogli, snake, nagin, flop star and words we do not wish to repeat. Let us talk about what we chose not to do, since nobody else will. In week two Uditi used one of her two saves on Qazi. He did not use one on her. She had one life left. We had every clip. We could have spent that week telling you he left her to drown, that he is the real snake here. We did not post a word. Neither did she say anything. If you are paying any attention, the person at the centre of this is not Uditi. It is Mahhi Vij. The whispering, the ear-filling, the running commentary on a woman who is not in the room. The sooner people see it, the better. If some of you never do, so be it. Fandom is a power, not a licence. If you want to troll, do it under your real name, your real photograph, your own family on your profile, the way hers is. Almost none of you will. To the accounts messaging Uditi’s mother directly: her family did not sign up for this show. We are documenting every one of those accounts. Handles, screenshots, timestamps. It is going to the cybercrime cell. A VPN or a paid bot account will not make you untraceable. None of it survives a legal request. We would rather not. There’s a reaction to every action. That’s human. The only difference is how much each person can take before they finally react. And in Uditi’s case, the reaction didn’t even come close to the action. We’ll keep this simple. We’ve never painted Uditi as someone who can do no wrong. She’s human, and humans have a breaking point. Provoke her enough, and yes, she will give it back. Comments about her looks, clothes and makeup have repeatedly found their way into conversations inside the house. She didn’t even want to do this task, and Rhiti would have won it anyway. But diss after diss, the vulgarity, the abuse and the slut-shaming only got more intense, until she eventually lost her cool. A lot of what followed was essentially a very angry “same to you.” Somewhere in that “baar baar mere kapde aur yeh sab pe kyun hota hai... main bhi bolun?” frustration, the remarks about Rhiti’s looks and body came out. Was it right? No. Should she have said it? No. We own that. What we will not own is something she never said. “Dil kaala” is an expression about someone’s nature or intent, not a comment on skin colour. So let’s not twist it into a narrative it never was. And to the PR team outside the house: great edits, cute trends, very convincing likes and comments. 🙂 Audiences see through it now, but do keep trying. We don’t play the victim card. And we don’t back down from bullies either. Action. Reaction. Context. All three matter. #TeamUditiSingh
