With the goal of increasing access to electricity, we have carried out grid extension works in Mulama, Nakaseke District, to enable communities in the area to access reliable electricity for both economic and domestic use. The extension of the electricity network will create new opportunities for business development, support improved healthcare services, enhance education, and contribute to improved standards of living for community members. These works are part of nationwide electricity access expansion projects aimed at reaching underserved communities and ensuring that more Ugandans have the opportunity to access electricity, powering homes, businesses, and community transformation. Works to restore the recently vandalized 132kV Owen Falls–Mukono North and Mukono North–Namanve South transmission lines are progressing in earnest. Our cinematographers visited the busy site to share this visual snippet. UETCL says the teams have erected all the required poles to support the temporary wooden power line—pending pole dressing, installation of the line accessories and stringing. After submitting your application for a new electricity connection and paying the inspection fee of UGX 23,600, a UEDCL surveyor will visit your premises to assess the wiring and confirm that it meets the required safety standards. Once your installation is approved, you will proceed to make the next payment of UGX 6,400 as the initial energy fee for a Government-funded connection, or pay the full connection fee for a self-funded connection, to complete the connection process. #UEDCLinService #LightingUpYourWorld
