A major milestone in strengthening Uganda’s industrial power infrastructure. UETCL has received three 80MVA transformers destined for the Kabalega Substation at the Hoima Industrial Park. These critical assets will enhance power reliability and capacity to support strategic national investments in the Albertine region. Once installed, the transformers will provide the backbone of the electrical infrastructure required to power the EACOP, petrochemical industries, and other industrial installations, further advancing Uganda’s journey towards industrialisation, energy security, and economic transformation.

UETCL has conducted a successful security operation to address the illegal encroachment of the 220kV Bujagali–Kawanda High Voltage Transmission Line wayleave corridor through the unauthorized laying of bricks. Our team conducted the operation in collaboration with the Uganda Police Force in the known encroachment hotspots of Buwaate and Nsasa, located in Kira Division, Wakiso District. As a result of the operation, five suspects were arrested and are currently in police custody as investigations continue. UETCL remains committed to protecting the integrity of its transmission corridors and ensuring the safety of the public.
