The Ugandan military Uganda Peoples' Defence Forces (UPDF) had deployed soldiers outside National Unity Platform party's headquarters in Kampala. The supposedly "People's Defence Force", or "People's Army", which has its roots in the "National Resistance Army" (NRA) "liberation struggle" has been hijacked and is used by Government of Uganda to carry out domestic repression, and turned into private army with the sole responsibility to keep dictator Yoweri K Museveni and his family in power and preserve the despised and unpopular NRM Party dictatorship.
