This milestone marks not only the culmination of years of hard work for our graduands but also the celebration of a legacy built on resilience and courage. Named after the legendary Abram Onkgopotse Tiro, a pivotal figure in South Africa’s resistance and liberation struggles, this hall stands as a symbol of courage and commitment to justice. Tiro, a student activist, delivered his groundbreaking speech at the 1972 graduation, only to be expelled and tragically assassinated in 1974. As we gather to celebrate this year's graduation, let us honour the footsteps of remarkable students like Tiro who paved the way for the freedom we enjoy today. When you step onto that stage in Onkgopotse Tiro Hall, remember that you too carry the torch of responsibility.
