Umpire Jeremie Rehak made the worst call of the day -- a strike to Xander Bogaerts that missed low by 4.11 inches. Bogaerts immediately tapped his helmet, but Rehak refused to grant the challenge. The next pitch, Rehak ejected Padres manager Craig Stammen and infield coach Ryan Goins after Stammen considered challenging the call at 2nd.

Umpire Emil Jimenez refused to grant a challenge twice in the Mariners Rays game. The first time, Julio Rodriguez immediately tapped his helmet after a called strike 3. Jimenez denied the challenge and ejected Dan Wilson for arguing. One inning later, he denied a Jonathan Aranda challenge. However, Jimenez was overruled by crew chief Doug Eddings and the call was overturned.
