Today, armored vehicles and containers stack up at the ENDF base in Asosa, Ethiopia shipped in via Berbera port in Somaliland and topped up by UAE cargo flights. Bosaso is out. Turkish F-16 departed Mogadishu's Aden Adde International Airport on Monday, as heavy fighting continued in the southwestern city of Baidoa. The Turkish fighter jets are deployed in Somalia as part of Türkiye's support for the Somali government's fight against terrorism, particularly against Al-Shabaab. The clashes in Baidoa involve Somali federal forces, Al-Shabaab militants, and forces loyal to Laftagareen. Baidoa, the administrative capital of South West State, lies about 250 kilometers northwest of Mogadishu.

After 3 days of brutal urban combat, Ethiopia’s FANO Tewodros and Menelik Command units have shattered the stronghold of the ENDF's 11th and 87th Divisions in Mekane Selam, South Wollo. The federal garrison was completely routed much of it destroyed, the rest taken prisoner while FANO fighters swept through the city center, seizing the university, the central mosque, the telecom hub and the piazza, along with large stocks of military hardware. The fall of the city is more than a battlefield victory. With Wogdi, Wurgessa and Densa also in FANO hands, a critical corridor between South Wollo and East Gojjam is now secured, and the region's main transit routes are choked off. The remaining ENDF pockets scattered across the surrounding districts are left encircled cut off from reinforcements, resupply and any line of retreat.

Türkiye’s Ambassador to Mogadishu, Alper Aktaş, announced during Somalia’s National Internal Security Conference that Türkiye had increased its air assets supporting counterterrorism operations at the request of the Somali authorities. Türkiye in Somalia Aktaş said the elite GORGOR units trained at the TURKSOM military base continue to fight terrorist organizations, adding that Türkiye has also trained more than 1,000 specialized personnel within the Somali Police Force. Highlighting Somalia’s significant security progress, Aktaş said the Çağrı Bey drilling vessel’s hydrocarbon exploration activities, fisheries investments and the planned spaceport project would contribute to the country’s economic development and security. “Türkiye remains fully committed to supporting Somalia,” Aktaş said.
