During my first official visit to Mozambique since taking office as UNESCO Director-General, and the first by a UNESCO 🏛️ #Education #Sciences #Culture 🇺🇳 DG since 2008, I had the chance to connect closely with Maputo, its institutions, its cultural life, and the communities shaping its future. Moving across the city, visiting arts and handicrafts sites, engaging with communities, and exchanging with site managers at a UNESCO #WorldHeritage sites — each moment offered a deeper understanding of the country’s diversity and dynamism. What stands out most is the drive and commitment of the people I met, whose work gives meaning to our shared priorities. It is through these connections that UNESCO’s mission takes shape, turning cooperation into tangible impact for communities. #ForThePeople
