We will follow in the footsteps of The UK. Here’s a list of Muslim mayors in the UK: 1. London - Sadiq Khan, a directly elected mayor, has been in office since 2016 and was re-elected in 2024. 2. Tower Hamlets - Lutfur Rahman, a directly elected mayor, took office in 2022. 3. Newham - Rokhsana Fiaz, a directly elected mayor, has been in office since 2018. 4. Luton - Mohammed Yaqub Hanif was the ceremonial mayor as of May 2024. 5. Oldham - Zahid Chauhan was the ceremonial mayor as of May 2024. 6. Blackburn - Suleman Khonat was the ceremonial mayor as of May 2024. 7. Oxford - Lubna Arshad served as the ceremonial mayor for the 2023-2024 term. 8. Brighton - Mohammed Asaduzzaman was elected as the ceremonial mayor in 2024. 9. Tameside - Tafheen Sharif served as the ceremonial mayor for the 2023-2024 term. 10. Camden - Nazma Rahman served as the ceremonial mayor for the 2023-2024 term.
