'JCVI Override', kids Covid vaccination, EXCLUSIVE Under FOIA UsForThem has obtained the minutes of meetings held in Sept 2021 in which the UK's four Chief Medical Officers agreed to overrule the JCVI to push through the vaccination of children for C19. The minutes indicate: 🛑significant undeclared conflicts of interest 🛑NO ethical input sought or received by the CMOs 🛑divergence of views between CMOs including concerns over potentially significant unknown harms As we also explain, only one quarter of parents were aware that the JCVI had declined to recommend mass vaccination of 12-15 year olds. Just 1 in 3 say they would still have wanted their kids to be C19 vaccinated had they known this at the time. While giving the opening statements for the Module 8 hearing on 'Children and Young People' this week, UK Covid-19 Inquiry official counsel, Ms Dobbin, set out a presumption that school closures and lockdowns were an unavoidable or even desirable response: while acknowledging that school closures were "enormously damaging", before hearing any of the evidence, the Inquiry appears to consider that school closures are on balance effective and worthwhile enough to "nonetheless be needed in the future". This flies in the face of the devastating evidence of serious safeguarding issues, stunted attainment and almost universally negative social, educational and health outcomes for the children whose education was affected by school closures. Schools should be given protected status - as Essential Infrastructure - to resist culpable assumptions that our children's life chances can be sacrificed in panicked attempts at infection control.

‼️UK Covid Inquiry, kids jabs A clear error here by the UK's Chief Medical Officer, Chris Whitty who gave evidence to UK Covid-19 Inquiry on Monday. In explaining the decisions around the C19 vaccination of children, Whitty misdescribes JCVI advice as having characterised the risks of vaccination as "EVEN SMALLER" than the marginal benefits at an individual child level. That's not what JCVI said. What they actually said is shown in the comments and includes the following: "the committee is of the opinion that the benefits from vaccination are marginally greater than the potential known harms but acknowledges that there is considerable uncertainty regarding the magnitude of the potential harms." They go on to stress: "in relation to childhood immunisation programmes, the UK public places a higher relative value on safety compared to benefits". Was it an inadvertent slip, a wishful recollection or a deliberate rewrite of history? Either way, the misdescription only benefits Whitty and does a disservice to the JCVI and the 42% of parents who, when polled (JL Partners, 2023), said they wouldn't have wanted their child to have been C19-jabbed had they realised that the JCVI had declined to recommend mass rollout.
