Rare, high quality footage of PAF & IAF PoW exchange on 22 January 1966. The three PAF PoWs were F/O Shaukat-ul-Islam (F-86), F/L Sheikh (P), and F/L B.A. Choudhary (B-57 crew). The seven IAF pilots were S/L O.N. Kakar (Hunter), F/L V.M. Mayadev (Gnat), F/O M.M. Lowe (Canberra), F/O M.V. Singh (Hunter), F/L Sadarangani Lal (Mystère IV), F/L K.C. Rare footage showing Field Marshal Ayub Khan visiting Sargodha after the 1965 war. Gen Musa, AM Nur Khan, and Sargodha base commander ‘Mitty’ Masud can be seen on the dais. Field Marshal is also shown shaking hands with Sqn Ldr MM Alam. At the end of the video, you can see Flt Lt Saad Hatmi inspecting the IAF Gnat, which was landed at the disused Pasrur airfield by Sqn Ldr Brijpal Singh Sikand and flown to Sargodha by Hatmi.

Gun camera footage of M. M. Alam’s first kill on 6 September. On the way to attack Adampur Air Base, the formation encountered IAF Hunters. Squadron Leader A. K. Rawlley did not survive the engagement. The Beas river is visible in the background. I would be eager to hear from any veterans or their families who might have preserved such footage. It would help enrich future editions of the PAF history book.
