Less than a day old when she was rescued, Tazlina came to the Vancouver Aquarium in 2019 after being rehabilitated at Alaska SeaLife Center and deemed non-releasable by US Fish and Wildlife. Happy 7th rescueversary, Taz — this mini pool party is for you!

It's hard to believe sea otter Tofino is already a year old! Today we celebrated her first rescueversary with an ice cake (that Luna decided was for her), clam paste art, ice treats and all the seafood a little otter could ask for!

Sea otter Hardy celebrated his eighth rescueversary yesterday, June 25! Rescued in 2017 by VA Marine Mammal Rescue Society, he was named for Port Hardy, BC, where he was found. Tofino's ice cake was a huge hit with the otters (especially Luna) — so we decided to make something a little more sharable!

Happy rescueversary to sea otter Mak, who was rescued 10 years ago near Kachemak Bay, Alaska! After being rehabilitated by Alaska SeaLife Center and being deemed non-releasable by US Fish and Wildlife Service, he was transferred to the aquarium alongside Kunik later in 2016.
