The opposition managed to mobilise a crowd of 40-50k in the heart of the national capital on a working day, and aam janta showed up too. Haven’t seen anything like this in New Delhi before — and a crowd of this size required the Delhi police to only do crowd management. There was no violence, no detentions. So the question remains: what was the government so scared of over the weekend? Why did the police use such force on peaceful protestors?
