This video clearly lays out the Premiers marching orders. She does not support a referendum on independence, it should be said the very opposite is true. She has been instructed and will do what she can to prevent the support of separatism breaching 30%. The newly tabled Bill 54 will lower the threshold required to trigger a citizens initiative. A direct and what I believe to be the intended consequence of changing the threshold is less public support for the referendum question which follows a successful citizens initiative. Lower threshold+less public support= failed referendum. In short, a lower threshold to initiate the citizens initiatives will result in a higher likelihood that a referendum stemming out of the proposed legislation also fails. Alberta Separatists need to have a serious discussion on not just how much support is needed to hold a referendum but also how much support is needed to hold a SUCCESSFUL referendum. #AlbertaSeparation
