I think people forget that these sheep are being bred for their wool. It’s not the bucolic vision they imagine. This is Karin Poll Merino in Australia. When they released this video (that they removed) they proudly titled the machine the “sperminator”. They will be shorn continually and then slaughtered. Some still as lambs. This truck is transporting dairy cows that farmers no longer want. Perhaps they are producing less milk or failing to calve. The average age of slaughter for a dairy cow in the U.K. is around 6 1/2 years. During this time she will have given birth ~4 times, and produced 32,000 litres of milk.
