In 1982, while serving with the Welsh Guards in the Falklands, Simon was severely injured when RFA Sir Galahad was bombed, killing 48 of his fellow soldiers. Simon knows first-hand how vital it is to help veterans in need and has spent decades championing better support for veterans and their families. Over the past ten years, the Veterans’ Foundation has awarded over £31 million in grants to more than 500 organisations across the UK, helping veterans and their families with housing, mental health care, recovery and community services.
