I've seen the Kingdom Hearts III clip of Anna turning into ice being mislabelled as being from Frozen (2013) more than once today. Stop spreading misinformation! 😠 But anyway, might as well make a comparison - Frozen on top, Kingdom Hearts III on the bottom.

Three decades of 20-second waits... In the Super NES version of Street Fighter Alpha 2, after selecting your characters and arena, due to a couple of loading pauses, 20 seconds pass until you can actually start fighting.

Opinions on the new Street Fighter movie are all over the place, but I think just about everyone who's seen Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie (1994) agrees that it's the best Street Fighter movie. By far! Does anyone disagree? (And if you haven't seen it, why not?)

In Mega Man 7, a well-timed Noise Crush can destroy Spring Man before the fight begins. The animation of the Mega Man 7 Robot Masters' health meters filling up shows their ACTUAL health, so a Robot Master getting hit when the meter first appears with zero means instant death.

Continuing our look at Metroid commercials, we have the minute-long Japanese one for Super Metroid (Super Famicom), with live-action for the setup of the adventure, when Ridley attacks Ceres Space Colony to capture the last Metroid. Why can't more SNES games have spots like this?

In Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES), back in the day I somehow figured out on my own that if you enter Bowser's room with a P-Wing, fly up and drop a bit into the adjacent room and fly back, that stops Bowser from spitting fireballs, making this boss fight easier.

The commercial for Metroid Prime is cinematic! Directed by Alex Proyas, who also directed The Crow (1994), Dark City (1998) and I, Robot (2004). It was supposedly filmed on the same set as The Matrix (1999), and was shown in movie theatres. Could Metroid be this cinematic again?

The Metroid series has many fascinating commercials; here's another. This Japanese spot for Metroid II: Return Of Samus has stop-motion Samus in manga-like scenes. It also proclaims that it's popular in America (interesting way to say the first didn't sell as well in Japan)...

In Super Metroid (Super NES), there are multiple demos if you idle on the title screen. If you've finished the game, a new demo shows advanced techniques, including a Charge Beam/Power Bomb combo and the healing Crystal Flash, but not how to do them. Do you know these secrets?

Fei-Long doesn't appear in the 1994 or the 2026 Street Fighter live-action movies, so here he is in Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie (1994), getting a faceful of Tatsumaki Senpukyaku.

Metroid Fusion & Metroid Prime released on the same day in 2002 after an eight-year drought (doesn't seem long compared to 18 yrs between Metroid Prime 3 & 4 or 19 yrs between Metroid Fusion & Metroid Dread). I don't remember this Fusion commercial, but the budget looks high!

We can face Astro Man again, as seen in the Mega Man: Dual Override trailer. Gamers are speculating about rematches with past Robot Masters. It's happened with MM3's Doc Robots & MM10's Weapon Archive, but in MM8 (Sega Saturn version SPECIFICALLY), Cut Man and Wood Man return.
