Glenn Davis on his radio show Tuesday night: “when someone says they appreciate and wish you well, not sure I believe that” “I was let go 100%, 180 degree from what you just heard, because I said some things critical of the organization and where it has been.” Clip below from Soccer Matters with Glenn Davis ESPN 97.5 Houston

I'm going to write this as respectfully as I can because this is not to pick on Pat Onstad. Other Major League Soccer clubs share this demeanor when asked a question, which is why I’m posting this. This is not a tough question. It’s certainly not asked in bad taste. Who cares if that’s the first question? It's a topic fans want to know about. This attitude of wanting to control what you get asked or discourage certain questions, if that's how you feel then do interviews with yourselves on your social media channels. Talk to an empty press conference room if you feel you have that luxury. The sports media, when working effectively, can be the best intermediary or messenger between the fans and the clubs. You guys are supposed to be the soccer experts, so enlighten us, maybe you’ll teach us something and provide some clarity for your fans. When you’re fighting for relevancy, trying to win people back, you should be welcoming anyone that lends you their time and has an audience – especially an outlet that covers you almost daily and is the voice of your most dedicated fans. (BTW let me point out that the club seems to be avoiding interviews on Soccer Matters with Glenn Davis so mainstream options may be getting slimmer). I'm not saying anything I wouldn't say to anyone around the league in person. Just friendly advice. You can watch the full interview of the clip below on the Bayou City Soccer YouTube channel.
