I’d honestly argue that Horizon Forbidden West has one of the best open worlds of this generation. Right now I’m just looking at the water, and it’s absolutely stunning. The waves, reflections, movement, and overall graphics are some of the best I’ve seen in any game. It’s such an underrated game too. It got completely overshadowed by Elden Ring at the time, which is a shame, because visually and technically, especially when it comes to world design and environmental detail, it deserves way more credit. #HorizonForbiddenWest

Whenever people talk about how huge Forza Horizon’s open worlds are, or how big modern racing games have become, I always think back to being a kid, loading up FUEL, opening the map and being completely blown away by the sheer scale of it! For perspective, Forza Horizon 6 has the biggest and densest map in Horizon history, with fan estimates placing it at roughly 142–145 km². FUEL’s map? A ridiculous 14,400 km², or 5,560 square miles! That makes it roughly 100 times larger, and this game released all the way back in 2009 on the Xbox 360 and PS3! That sense of scale genuinely blew my mind as a kid. Seriously, check this out! 🤯🔥 🎮#PS3 💿#Fuel ⚙️#Codemasters

The devs knew exactly what they were doing with Theresa Lorca in #007FirstLight That smile on James Bond’s face says everything. Please note, this is being captured using a free cam mod during a cutscene. The odd flickering and slightly janky camera movement are because I am technically breaking the game to get this footage working. I am taking a closer look at the character model and details from an angle players would not normally see. #jamesbond #videogamedeatils #VGD

Just wow 😍 #NTE #NevernesstoEverness This is absolutely stunning. Easily my favourite find so far. The art direction, the water, the lighting, the music, the whole feel of this place is just so dreamy and cosy. One of those spots where I had to stop for a bit and just take it all in.

Everyone talks about Rockstar’s biggest games, but always forgets this absolute banger. I loved State of Emergency as a kid, and honestly, revisiting it just now was actually really fun. It is pure PS2-era chaos and still has something about it that games today just do not offer. You play as part of a resistance fighting against an evil corporation that has taken control of the country. You run through massive riots, complete missions, fight the security forces, smash up shopping malls, destroy shops and cause as much damage as possible. Was Rockstar trying to tell us something? This feels a little too real now, doesn’t it? 😂 You were not actually supposed to kill the civilians, but as a kid I did not give a **** 😂 I mean, just look at the amount of NPCs running around and how much destruction is happening on screen. State of Emergency was released on the PlayStation 2 in North America on February 12, 2002, and in Europe on February 22, 2002. Who else remembers this one? #StateOfEmergency #RockstarGames #Rockstar #GTA6 #GTAVI #GrandTheftAutoVI #GrandTheftAuto6 #GTA #GrandTheftAuto #PS2 #PlayStation2 #RetroGaming #ClassicGaming #GamingNostalgia #OldSchoolGaming #GamingMemories #PS2Games #RetroGames #VideoGames #RDR2

WTF, this is exactly why I know I haven’t found everything in this game, and probably never will 😂 #CrimsonDeset I only caught this out the corner of my eye while searching for a memory. Little discoveries like this are what make the exploration so addictive. There’s always something hidden, something you missed, or something pulling you off track. Location is in the comments for anyone who wants to go and grab it.

I’m not even hunting for the best-looking spots in Horizon. These are just random areas while walking around. #HorizonForbiddenWest It’s been a while since I played it, but I’ll still stand by this: Horizon is one of the best-looking open world games of this generation. The jungle and forest density is ridiculous. The ambience, lighting, sound, and overall atmosphere still hit hard. Sometimes just walking through the world is enough.

God, just look at that view! 😍 I really don’t understand the extreme hate this game gets. #HorizonForbiddenWest Just because I’m pointing out the beautiful art direction and open-world design, and saying it’s one of the best-looking games this generation, doesn’t mean there is no gameplay there. My page shows all sorts, from the smallest environmental details to actual gameplay moments, and personally, I love the story and gameplay too. But story is subjective. Combat feel is subjective. Not every game is going to land the same for every player. The hate this game gets in the comments is so forced, man. I’m not talking about actual criticism. Fair criticism is fine. I’m talking about the toxic BS where people act like the game has zero value just because it isn’t for them. If you don’t like it, fair play. Move on. But trying to drag everyone else for enjoying it is just dumb. And IMO what isn’t really up for debate, though, is the effort poured into this world. The density, lighting, environments, machine design, animation work, sound, ambience, and overall presentation are genuinely top-tier. As a piece of game art, it’s a masterpiece. Simple as that. That’s what draws me in. And for the people saying graphics mean nothing, I just don’t agree. Yes, a game can look rough and still be incredible. Gameplay will always matter. But visuals, art direction, lighting, atmosphere, and world detail absolutely can pull you deeper into a game. They add emotion, immersion, and a stronger sense of place. For some games, graphics are not just “pretty visuals”, they are part of the experience. It’s games like this that make me want to see what more studios could do with PlayStation’s in-house Decima engine. Honestly, if Decima was public, it would be a serious rival to Unreal Engine 5’s position in the market.
