Dear Lula, I have the utmost respect for you and for your role in the workers' movement against the dictatorship, but your comments about there being no workers in the October Revolution and the Cuban Revolution are totally inaccurate. When you were in Curitiba, I had given you Red Star Over the Third World (Estrela vermelha sobre o terceiro mundo from Expressão Popular - which has many pictures of workers who shaped the October Revolution. I can send you pictures of workers from the Cuban Revolution as well. Not only is accuracy important for us, but especially an accurate assessment of these important revolutions that are part of the history of the Left. These are not merely revolutions by intellectuals - as you put it dismissively - but these were mass struggles that culminated in the overthrow of ghastly regimes (the Tsar and Batista) neither of whom would agreed to any democratic change, the democracy you applaud.
