This imagery was shared by NASA scientist Hiren Jethva, among the foremost researchers studying aerosol activity in the atmosphere. This shows catastrophic levels of smoke pollution across North India & Pakistan, including what Hiren says is a late-afternoon burst of smog clouds in Punjab - this is the same pattern observed last year.
