Today has been an Air-Emergency - ridiculous levels of deadly PM 2.5 circulating across North India. This imagery was shared by NASA scientist Hiren Jethva, among the foremost researchers studying aerosol activity in the atmosphere. This shows catastrophic levels of smoke pollution across North India & Pakistan, including what Hiren says is a late-afternoon burst of smog clouds in Punjab - this is the same pattern observed last year.
