STT is as a major double tax for sincere market participants. While rationalizing Long-Term Capital Gains (LTCG) is a great step, we shouldn't forget about STT. Paying both income taxes and STT creates an overlapping burden on productive participants. #STTRebate

Now that the government is addressing the benchmarking challenge for foreign funds by introducing CAS, can we also request the “head of the family” to rethink STT for its own kids? I am sure we want our Indian participants to survive, and our market microstructure to thrive.

I attended the Coldplay concert in Ahmedabad last night and I feel I should talk about it. One of the best experiences in recent times. Special respect for the Ahmedabad administration for making it a near to perfect experience for all of us. I am no one to talk about the band. They are full of humility and respect for everyone. Their gestures like these where Chris Martin was using sign language was truly incredible. These concerts are useful for character buildup in any nation, particularly among youngsters. I feel one cannot just price these experiences. If you were also there, share your experience.

A budget that discourage professional trading and professional investing. The most hit segment is the full time people who have taken market as a serious occupation. Many will move out now. Questions is to be asked: Will retail investors get protected from these actions ?

In India, especially in the financial markets, businesses can only sustain and grow over decades if they operate with the appropriate licenses and regulatory approvals. We remain deeply conscious of my responsibility and consistently ensure strict adherence to the law.
