Mount Koubru is revered as the birthplace of human civilisation by the indigenous janajaatis of Manipur like Meiteis and Nagas. The Koubru Hills have been a pilgrimmage site for several dharmic faiths having more than 50 sacred sites for over 3000 years. This region is a site under government protection since 1968 for its immense religious, cultural, historical and sentimental value. This act is like placing a cross over Kedarnath, Badrinath, Amarnath or Mount Kailash after harrassing the Shivbhakts and purohits there. One of the least reported #KukiAtrocities in Manipur have been their continuous blockades and extortion along the national highways, the lifelines of Imphal valley. Such crimes continue to happen in broad daylight (Refer Video 1). Such crimes have blocked essential supplies to more than 15 lakh people of the Imphal valley.
