In this short documentary produced by VOCAL Africa, “Not Yet Justice” , the aftermath of the June 2024 protests against the Finance Bill 2024 is explored. The protests, met with violent repression, led to deaths, injuries and disappearances. The film highlights the ongoing struggles of families seeking justice, individuals living with permanent injuries and those still recovering. Despite their efforts, justice remains elusive, with no one held accountable for the violence. #NotYetJustice

We have confirmation that Morara kebaso is being held at Nairobi Regional police headquarters after being taken from his Kahawa offices. Attempts by lawyers and colleagues to access have been thwarted by police at the gate. Crowds are beginning to gather outside the police station gate. This is totally unacceptable.

Boda boda rider Jack Deon Maloba, 23, was arrested Thursday evening at the Kawangware police post and died in the cells four hours later. Police claim suicide by T-shirt, but Maloba's family argues the neck wound suggests a wire and notes the alleged T-shirt was not with the body, casting doubt on the official narrative. VOCAL Africa demands an immediate, transparent investigation into the family's credible allegations of foul play, including evidence suggesting a wire was used.
