This 30 minute time lapse video was taken above Mundo Marino aquarium in Argentina. Kshamenk, a 35 year old lone orca languishes motionless in a decrepit, tiny concrete tank. This level of neglect is inexcusable. We must fight for Kshamenk before its too late. #FreeKshamenk

This timelapse video was taken on Sept 24th, 2023 above Mundo Marino in Argentina. (10 minutes sped up to 30 seconds.) Kshamenk, their 35 year old captive orca doesnt move. He’s unwell and needs immediate help. We must raise awareness about his perilous existence. #FreeKshamenk

This is Kshamenk, Argentina’s last captive orca. He’s been in these concrete tanks at Mundo Marino since 1992. He hasn’t seen another orca since 2000. Orcas are social animals and live with their families in the wild. Solitary confinement is akin to torture. Free Kshamenk!

BREAKING: Yachters in Spain are now using homemade stun grenades to deter orcas from getting close to their vessels. We cannot allow this destructive and painful practise to be normalized. We must protect these orcas from further escalation and possible harm.

This video was taken on Sept 23, 2023 above Mundo Marino in Argentina. Kshamenk, a 35 year old male orca can barely been seen while swimming below the surface of the foul tank conditions. He’s been in this tank since his 1992 capture and without another orca tankmate since 2000.

This is Lolita, the Miami Seaquarium’s last orca. She was captured in 1970 and has lived in this tank ever since. Her last orca tank-mate Hugo died in 1980. That’s 53 years of captivity and 43 without another orca. It’s akin to torture for such emotionally complex, social beings!

This video is of Kiska, MarineLand’s last orca. It was taken in 2011 moments after her last tank mate was removed - leaving her completely alone. These haunting cries are of her calling out for other whales. She died on Mar 9 2023 after 12 years of solitary confinement. #RIPKiska

He’s been stuck in this tank since his 1992 capture from the wild. His last orca tank mate died in 2000. We must fight for Kshamenk or he too will die soon.

This video was taken at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium in July 2024. Buffett the manatee has been living in solitary confinement since his last tankmate died in 2023. Mote has ignored the public’s plea to relocate Buffett to join other manatees. As a social animal, he suffers alone. #FreeBuffett

BREAKING: The dolphin tank at Hotel Barcelo in Riviera Maya, Mexico has been permanently closed. Thank you to all the tireless advocates who fought so hard for this resolve. Now we must ensure the dolphins are responsibly removed and relocated. More to come.

This video was taken on November 21st, 2024 from above MarineLand, Canada. Their 4 remaining captive dolphins have been removed from their outdoor tank and will spend the winter indoors, in an even smaller pool. We will continue to monitor MarineLand. Follow @UrgentSeas for more.
