THIS INDIPENDENCE DAY, I NEED YOUR HELP... This country needs a peaceful revolution, at least in how we chose our leaders... if we are to remain even a respectable nation by 2047. Close to half of our MPs have criminal cases and a third have serious charges like murder, rape & kidnapping. No wonder trust deficit has become the biggest deficit in the nation. I want to consult the best minds in the country wherever they are, to brainstorm about what must change and how. Not just intellectuals who think but people who are selfless, fearless men & women of character & substance. Sitting in remote Ladakh I don't know who & where they are, so you can help by proposing at least one such name from the nation, and your region... END OF HUNGER... BEGINNING OF ACCOUNTABILITY...! Sonam Wangchuk ends his fast after 26 days upon getting assurance from the government and members of parliament of all political parties that the issue of accountability in the failing examination system will be discussed on the floors of the Indian Parliament. The government also gave assurance that families of suicide victims in the recent NEET examination paper leak will be given adequate compensation and that there will be no cases registered against the peacefully protesting students and youths. NEPAL, WE FEEL YOUR PAIN India & particularly Ladakh understands the pain of being at the forefront of #ClimateChange. We have experienced this in Leh in 2010. Unfortunately many more places will experience this in future if we do not change our ways. People in the mountains suffer for no fault of theirs as people in big cities continue to live as if there's no tomorrow. There perhaps is NO TOMORROW... Please live simply in big cities, so we in mountains may simply live. #ILiveSimply

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION ON JHARKHAND ANSHAN… Some media houses had mistakenly reported yesterday that Devendra Nath Mahato ji had broken his hunger strike after my video call. This is to clarify that he only agreed to take water & salt after my call. His hunger strike continues as before with no food for the 5th day.

PEACEFUL MARCH TO THE PARLIAMENT, 20th JULY Thanks for all your messages to break my Hunger Strike, but that wouldn't help the 20 students who committed suicide nor will that help protect the mountains of Ladakh or the rivers of India. If you really want to help then do a little more than messages from comfy couches, then come to Delhi & to Jantar Mantar on 20th July, when the Monsoon session of Indian Parliament starts. Together we'll start a very Peaceful March to the Sansad and appeal to our honorable MPs to take the issue up and find a lasting solution... #cockroachjantaparty #cjpprotest #jantarmantar
