Female students are protesting boys competing in girls sports. They will not compete in the Cross Country meet at Connell High School this Saturday at all if a biological male is permitting to join, citing both safety and fairness. Meanwhile, Legislative Democrats are blocking Sen. Judy Warnick SR 8647, a bill to protect girls in sports. It is well past time for this commonsense measure to pass. After voting to shut the public out of the budget process, Governor Ferguson and Olympia Democrats imposed a major expansion of the regressive state sales tax, which hit many WA businesses, products, and services for the first time ever (SB 5814). Food banks, health care, non-profits, charities, child care, and school districts are hit with the new tax too. All Republicans voted NO, siding with the 96%+ of over 6,400 people Signing-in CON against the new taxes. We offered many amendments to make this terrible bill slightly better and the majority shot them all down. Democrats even voted NO on Amendment 460, which would have excluded electronic health records, medical records, and telehealth platforms from the new tax. Another $416 MILLION unaccounted for?! Governor Ferguson's Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) have an un-auditable $416 MILLION of taxpayer funds, according to State Auditor Pat McCarthy (D). At the same time, taxpayer funded daycare fraud is being exposed nationwide. This recent grim news comes after decades of tax increases from WA Democrats, record spending, a squandered $15 BILLION surplus, the largest tax increases and spending spree last year, $1.17 BILLION in missing COVID money, $1 BILLION in wasted Labor & Industries tech projects, $646 million of unemployment money being stolen by Nigerian scammers, $340 million going to non-citizens, and so much more.
