As conditions in Ukrainian frontline cities remain challenging, many families don't have consistent access to gas stoves and other cooking supplies they need to cook. That's why WCK is bringing the stoves to them with our cooking kits, each of which includes a gas stove, gas canisters, and a fire extinguisher. A little girl in a shelter in Lebanon told WCK Chef Corps member Aline she was craving Kibbeh Labanieh. "Can you make it," she asked, "like you're my mom?" So Aline did. Spiced meat and pine seeds from the forests of southern Lebanon, hand-rolled and fried, served over rice in a warm yogurt sauce with coriander and garlic. Hillside communities in western Jamaica were among the hardest hit by Hurricane Melissa, and ongoing heavy rain continues to make access difficult. WCK teams are using every means available—by land and air—to ensure nourishing meals reach anyone in need. In Bluefields, Belmont, and Mearnsville, we delivered 1,200 meals, including to families sheltering in what remains of a primary school.
