Breathtaking, incredible moment - I say how do we make this incredibly cool looking moment more safe + safely reproducible (if possible) Kyle Fletcher has incredible body control, and the ability to do things most elite athletes can’t Loosen the grip, and time the release to allow Kyle to rotate and flip over so he lands flat on his belly prior to impact (as opposed to landing on his head and then rotating) Not a spot for everyone (I wouldn’t take this move) but 2 incredible athletes and one very athletic one with great body control could pull this off - safely I just don’t possess that ability. Can’t knock the enthusiasm and work ethic and passion (I get it more than anyone - I absolutely LOVE this crazy sport!!!) - I’d just modify the spot to make it safe and reproducible ( if desired). Very exciting match and card.

To clarify; Huge believer in safety above all else. (For me personally) - but as a person who is still active, and loves working hard and doing (calculated) stunts, - and someone who has offered safety advice for years I have come to the conclusion that many modern wrestlers (passionate, enthusiastic, willing to do anything - like I was when I was younger so I get it 💯) don’t seem to be OPEN to the idea of slowing down or stopping the pushing of the envelope or raising of the bar. They are full of passion, drive and enthusiasm. I, believing that that is the case …and that said, if you’re going to continue to raise the bar, push the envelope et.- find the safest way possible to do it. Rehearse when need be, walk through the stunt, utilize crash pads (large ones) or whatever mitigates risk. Unless a company mandates safety this will never voluntarily be done by modern wrestlers. My generation was told to “slow down” - we didn’t, we kept pushing. As a result of this, wrestlers needs to be our own best advocate for us and our opponents while expressing our matches / art in the way we like. Be calculated, be safe , consider everything that can go wrong - and how to avoid it or lessen the risk. Proceed if you feel confident and comfortable. Things aren’t “slowing down “ in wrestling or any sport.
