13年前，我犯了一个错误。 当时认为中国太多问题了，中共政权三五年内就会垮台，我希望来到世界上最强大的民主国家美国，亲身学习和体验，未来中国必定会走向民主，我在美国学有所成，可以回去建设民主中国。 批评中共政府数年，收效甚微，敢于挺身而出响应者廖廖，加上与海外民运各方面人物亲身接触后，得出一个结论，中共短期内不会垮台，需要持久战，我更应该调整人生轨迹。 2018年，我决定把未来生活重心和政治抱负放在美国本土，决心十年磨一剑，2028年竞选国会议员。 当时看热闹甚至笑话我的人很多，我开始一步一步往前走。从到美国大学重新念书开始，接触社区，服务社区，继而参军服役，增加军队服务经验，退役后继续在邮局工作，目前已积累6年公共服务资历，拿到美国副学士、学士和MBA硕士学历，得到美国军队及社会奖项若干，不算虚度年华，让自己的综合素质和能力得到巨大提升。#Qin2028 著有#中国危机三部曲，尽到社会责任，个人前半生回忆录 #逆袭人生 今年会正式出版，敬请期待。 2028年，我将为美国联邦政府服务满8年，计划提前退休，按照原计划竞选公职，选上就好好干，选不上就游山玩水看世界。 与你一路同行，感恩。

Felder, president of Harford Community College, presented the 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award to Weiping Qin at the College’s 65th Annual Commencement Ceremony on May 25, 2023. Recipients of the award must attain outstanding success in their chosen profession, demonstrate a commitment to the community, and maintain an interest in and service to Harford Community College. Qin, a 2020 graduate of Harford Community College, studied Business and Accounting. During his two years at Harford, he quickly became involved in campus life. He was elected president of the Student Government Association in 2019 and participated in alternative break service learning trips to New Orleans, Rome and Key West. After Harford, Weiping joined the United States Navy and served for three years. While in the Navy, he was recognized with the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Outstanding Military Volunteer Service Medal. In 2021, he established the Weiping Qin Freedom Scholarship with the Harford Community College Foundation to show his appreciation for the financial aid and scholarship support he received as a student while at Harford. The scholarship supports student leaders and students who have served in the military. Weiping is a lifelong student, hoping to continue his education in a Public Administration program at Johns Hopkins University.
