Russian Ambassador to the UN Vassily Nebenzia said that President Zelenskyy and Europeans desperately asking for a simple ceasefire reflect their dire situation on the battlefield. But a simple ceasefire won’t solve the complex roots of the crisis, he added. It will only give space to “pump Ukraine” with more weapons. Earlier today, EU President Ursula von der Leyen said the EU opposes any changes to Ukraine's borders and does not support measures that could weaken the Ukrainian armed forces.
