Q&A with “In Whose Name?” co-producer Shy Ranje after the screening at the Tretyakov Gallery. The most interesting details: • Virgil barely appears in the film because his scenes didn’t really fit the concept, so they mutually decided not to focus on him. • Ye changes his phone number once a month. • Ye loves Tarkovsky and sometimes plays his films in the background while working. • Ye watched the film three times. The first time, he watched it with Nico and Shy on a very old TV with poor picture quality. After it ended, they sat in complete silence for five minutes, after which Ye simply took a deep breath. • Ye had no control over the editing process. His only condition was that the film had to begin with his daughter. Shoutout to Donda Archive & for letting me post it ❤️
